Each book of the light novel are more expensive than the average light novel in the market. The reason being that the books are in hardcover, which is EXTREMELY rare among light novels. The hardcover gives it a premium feel, and the books are written on what feels like "resume paper."

Main story is still going at 16 volumes, Year One is on hiatus at 2 volumes, and Dai Katana is complete at 3 volumes. and yet i can't find anything about the 3rd volume of Dai Katana on the internet (neither Wikipedia nor Goblin Slayer Wikia). if it wasn't for this sub, i wouldn't even know the volume exists. Ok. Overlord, Vol. 3: The Bloody Valkyrie is an amazing addition to the Overlord series. I really loved this novel, ultimately scoring it higher than volumes one and two. If you enjoyed the previous books or watched the anime, you will love this one as well. If you like gorgeous, full color art in your novels, pick this up.
I'd say there isn't a lot of differences at all. There is a ton more info in the light novels. There's just way more character development and dialogue that is passed in the anime. I started reading volume 10 after I finished season 3. But after going back the novels blow the anime away.
